Lunch, Siamese Music

In Thailand, the ship anchored off Bangkok. Mr. Kegel departed by tender, a river steamer, for a sail of three hours across the bay to the picturesque city. Then by automobile the group stopped at the principal sight-seeing spots, having lunch to the accompaniment of Siamese music.

Mr. Kegel was about half-way around the world when he arrived at Singapore. Here he saw the Botanical Gardens where the first rubber trees in Malaya were propagated, Victory Hill where the Japanese Victory Monument was erected and the Chinese Temple.

Next Colombo, Ceylon, where there were many Hindu temples, Buddhist Temple and the Wolfendall Church, reminiscent of the days when the Dutch ruled Ceylon.
