110th Anniversary Look Back - Day 66

Today for #365daysofKegelHD, we invite you to enjoy this fun article from the April 26, 1915 Freeport Daily Bulletin.

WHIRL OVER COUNTY
Cyclists Visit Every Village in Less Than Six Hours.

Going some was the Freeport Motorcycle club yesterday. Eighteen of the members of this organization paid a visit to every town and hamlet in Stephenson county. There are only 28 of them, and the boys buzzed through and around them in five and a half hours of riding time, covering 157 miles, or an average of about 27 miles an hour. This is some going considering it was over country roads and some hills.

Joe Kegel, captain, made the trip in a side car. Some of the boys went through some of the towns so fast they forgot the name of them.

On Decoration day they are all going to take a few minutes off and ride up to Dubuque. These fast motorcycle rides are great stuff but when one goes 27 miles an hour over a hilly country road he doesn't have time to enjoy the scenery.
