110th Anniversary Look Back - Day 117

Today we share another article from the October 15, 2001 edition of the Chicago Suburb's Daily Herald with Jacky Runice's write-up of Illinois' second city (at the time) that mentions us and the Kegel diner!

"Happily blinded by the sunshine hitting the chrome of a Harley on a Sunday morning, we enjoyed breakfast at the Kegel Motorcycle Co. iconic diner. Adorned with motorcycle decor and a Harley in the center of the counter, the diner offers Biker Babe breakfasts, French toast, all sorts of eggs and the popular sausage gravy and biscuits.

Like good bikers, we dragged our ballooning bellies through the diner door and into the multilevel showroom of the world's oldest Harley dealer, established in 1910. Harleys, BMWs and Buells are the stars here with clothing, accessories and parts backing up the museum-like experience. Parts of little ones won't want to miss the kid's room filled with tiny leather jackets, furnishings and Harley-decked toys such as Motorcycle Barbie and Ken (with chest hair and tattoo, thank you). I'm not even interested in motorcycles, but the Kegel Motorcycle Co. made me feel like a cool dude in a loose mood, (www.kegelmotorcycles.com)."
