While Kegel Motorcycle Co originated in Freeport, Illinois, in 1923 the regional Harley-Davidson sales manager at the time asked Grandpa Joe if he would be interested in moving to Rockford to buy out the current Rockford dealer Mr. Johnston. So Joe moved his family to Rockford and bought out the dealer located at 118 N. Madison St. A year or so later the property at 110 N. Madison St became available and the shop was moved there where it stayed until 1975.

Being the World's Oldest Family-Owned Dealership, you never know who's going to walk through the doors each day - a rather uneventful day in November 2018 became a day to remember when actor/comedian Michael Winslow dropped in on his way to the airport!
